Baidnath kumaris a dedicated child rights activist and social development professional with over 20 years of experience combating human trafficking, child labour, child marriage, and other forms of child exploitation. Rising from a childhood marked by child labour, he transformed his lived struggles into a lifelong mission to protect vulnerable children. Since 2000, Baijnath has worked across India—especially in Jharkhand—rescuing and rehabilitating over 10,000 children in collaboration with police, government agencies, and national and international organizations.

Years Of Experience
Till date he saved around five thousand victims of child labour and Trafficking. The first case of human trafficking in Jharkhand done by him was in association with DSS, Ranchi on 16th May, 2012 and all the convicted got imprisonment. Also facilitated FIR against culprit that is 247 on human trafficking and 97 on missing children. He was part of a raid team of CID Jharkhand and rescued 84 girls on 25th December, 2012 from Delhi who were trafficked from Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh and West Bengal. He received a certificate as recognition for outstanding work on trafficking issues in the state by ADG, IG and some international agencies throughout the year. Missing Children: Rescued a 3 years of missing children through help of social media within 24 hours of lodged complaint in Missing Child Helpline with the support of CID, Jharkhand.
In a disturbing case from Bokaro district, a minor girl employed in the household of Traffic Station In-charge Nutan Modi tragically died by suicide, allegedly by hanging. The girl had been sent to live with her aunt, Nutan Modi, under an agreement made on October 8, 2020, at Satgaon police station in Koderma, with the stated purpose of continuing her education. However, instead of attending school, she was reportedly made to perform household chores. On November 10, 2023, Nutan Modi informed the girl’s brother about the incident and admitted her to Medanta Hospital in Ranchi without notifying the police, raising serious concerns about her conduct. In response, Baijnath Kumar, Secretary of the Child Rights Foundation, wrote to the Director General of Police (DGP) requesting a CID investigation, citing possible violations of the Juvenile Justice Act, including illegal child labour and failure to report the incident to authorities as mandated by law.
Ongoing (Since July 2018):
Serving as a Member of the Child Welfare Committee (CWC), Khunti, actively engaged as a child rights activist. In this role, significant efforts have been made to safeguard children’s rights, provide access to basic needs such as food, education, and shelter, and contribute to the psychological and emotional wellbeing of vulnerable children.
International Exposure:
Selected by the United States Department of State, Bureau ofEducational and Cultural Affairs to participate in the InternationalVisitor Leadership Program (IVLP) on “Strengthening the CombatAgainst Trafficking and Gender-Based Violence” 2018 USA.
